Accessibility Statement
Corporate Social Responsibility and Web Accessibility
The Collinson Group recognises the importance of high standards of social, ethical and environmental behaviour. These issues represent opportunities for us to strengthen our business by enhancing our reputation with clients and our people.
Specifically, we see our corporate social responsibility as the voluntary actions that we can take, over and above compliance with minimum legal requirements, to address both our own competitive interests and the interests of wider society.
Accessibility
The site is designed and developed to be accessible and usable to as many people as possible by following the UK Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
We have included accessibility checks in every step of our design and build process to ensure it is as accessible as possible.
All pages are XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid and CSS valid. The Collinson Group website will still be readable if your browser does not support cascading stylesheets.
All pages use relative font sizes. However since the sIFR technique is used for Flash headlines you need to refresh your browser after changing font size in order for the sIFR to resize accordingly as well.
External links open in new windows. A title attribute is added with the wording "new window" to warn you about this.
Did you know?
Section III of the Disability and Discrimination Act, which refers to accessible websites, came into force on 1st October 1999.
The act makes it unlawful for service providers to treat disabled people less favourably for a reason related to their disability.
A formal investigation of 1000 websites by the RNIB in 2004 (see PDF document) revealed that over 80% were next to impossible for those with disabilities to use.
